Camp FUNdamentals-Legacy Equestrian (Ages 13-18)

Camp FUN-damentals is an animal-assisted camp for kids of ALL abilities held outdoors on the grounds of Arrowhead Arena/Legacy Equestrian in Maple Lake. The goal of camp is to practice new skills, learn about horses and most of all, have FUN outside in nature with new friends.

Supported by occupational therapist Alycia from FUNdamentals in Nature, campers will have fun with nature-based social games, art, movement, snack preparation and sensory play to promote development of social skills, self regulation and fine and gross skills.

Campers will learn about grooming and care of horses and bunnies with the expertise of Melissa Beaudry of Legacy Equestrian. Campers will have the opportunity to help with feeding, grooming, walking the horses and riding if desired.

This camp is designed for kids that need a boost in their motor, social, and self regulation skills, but is a great camp for all kids wanting to explore nature and horses with new friends.

Note: this camp will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine! Use of a covered barn will be used as needed in the event of inclement weather. Campers will make a snack together during camp or can bring their own personal snack. PCA’s/parents are allowed to attend if 1:1 support is needed to participate in the group setting.
